Is it normal that i don't know much about history?

I'm 19 years old, and i've heard stuff about Hitler and WWII and stuff about WWI (though I don't know exactly what it was about. but. . .I wouldn't say I know much at all about history and the World Wars.

for example, I don't exactly know what Hitler's ultimate goal was, to take over the world?

anyway, is this normal? do most people not know much about this stuff unless they're history teachers or older people?

    I get what you mean. I honestly don't know much about the Vietnam War. However, the history channel usually does shows involving major wars in history, you could learn from them.

    Well yeah if you want to be out of the loop as to why the world is the way it is then go right ahead. It can actually be really interesting.

    Like the company Siemens, which is gigantic today, built the nazi gas chambers.

    America was good friends with Osama Bin Laden at one point when Russians invaded Afghanistan and we actually gave them tons of weapons and money which they turned on us.

    America's founding fathers owned slaves, George Washington grew hemp, Ben Franklin was a womanizer, the revolution was based around rich white people not wanting to pay taxes, and Thomas Jefferson intended the Constitution be rewritten every twenty years.

    Fairly normal. My friends think that Latin America was founded by the Latins.
