Is it normal that i don't have thoughts?

I do not have thoughts. Instead there is ALWAYS a song stuck in my head. From the moment I wake up to the moment I fall asleep. The only time there's anything in my head beside music is when I'm talking, writing, reading, or replaying something I've heard, said, or read in my head. But besides that I have no thoughts.

Is this normal??

I dont think its abnormal. I go through most of the day without having surface thoughts. Its only when i'm seriously considering things or studying that i have noticable thoughts. You've probably got a thought process going on under that music that helps run your life. It sounds like a nice way to be :)

Don't you ever think, 'hey, that girl's hat is pretty cool' or 'I'm so tired!' If there's no one around for you to say something to, how are you actually supposed to make yourself.. aware of something? I don't get it. You're mind can't be full of one tune per day and nothing else...

By thinking about that, you are having a thought. Congratulations.

The same thing has happened to me. The song that caused it to happen to me was the Lavender Town Theme. I remember being so scared because the song was the only thing I could hear in my head, but it goes away and now I have no thoughts at all except for when I speak in my head; I technically do have thought but they are just not vivid. It is not fun and it may seem that people are smarter than you and you are slow, but remember not having thoughts is not a disability, just a challenge.

You don't have to think to walk. You just do it. Same with breathing.

    Added info:

It's been like this all my life. Thoughts don't come around too often.

Congratulations, you're a Zen Master. Not. You first must have thoughts before you give them up. If you haven't given thoughts up, you don't know what you're missing and therefor cannot possibly a Zen Master.

Actually, lostandconfused fits the exact description of a Zen Master reincarnated, because once they have achieved the state of removing all of ones thoughts/siddhis they are gone/burnt forever(nirvana means "to extinguish" ones thoughts). It's permanent enlightenment. This world of maya (illusion) continues forever but our souls can break free from that cycle by simply returning to our original state of mind: peace. aka zen. nirvana/nibbana, self-realization, etc. In and after that state is achieved, the master has the ability to willingly travel back and forth, in between each worlds, out of one's own free will. SO when a master returns they may see and witness pain or confusion-bc that's what this world is here to teach us: what zen is- but he is always unattached in that permanent state of self-awareness. What you are experiencing actually seems to be a very unique case of evidence for a VERY positive future that, unfortunately, the human race has a very bleak outlook on. So, tell me, are you a very content person? That is a sign of true peace: to be unaffected by the drama around you THAT ISN'T REAL. To be non-dual in an very dualistic world that is created by our thoughts in the first place. I think therefore I am. Think is a verb, Thought is a noun. You can think with no thoughts that is how a Zen master can still be enlightened without being a vegetable (no offense to anyone who is a vegetable..anyway) Free to go about as you please, a wandering ascetic.

Basically, you could have given up your thoughts in a past life if you were a monk or a buddha or a christ, they're all the same. Jesus was the supreme example of our ultimate selves and is the chosen one because he is the one who will return if there is a second coming. But these states of mind are all the same. One wheel with many spokes, you picked a path that worked for you in a past life (obviously) and many people are here still trying to find that sense of truth. The spokes are religion, they all connect at the center which holds the pieces in place- NOT the other way around. ANYWAY you found your center. Congratulations!

You do have thoughts, trust me. However sometimes we have trouble "catching" a thought and following through with it. Could be stress-related, or you may be sleep-drived, you may have an ADHD subtype called ADHD-PI (or ADD). But I wouldn't worry unless it's making your life miserable.

There's no one way you can't "have thoughts". Thinking is uncontrollable to an extent. You are always thinking, just sometimes, you don't realize it. You think every minute of everyday, even when you're sleeping (although it is lowered a fare bit, but you get my point)

Try to think about things other than a song, you might find you become more informative about the world and yourself.
