I was never comfortable taking that first step either. Looking back, I'm sure my lack of confidence and fear of rejection limited my experience with women greatly, and I could have had a lot more fun with women in my younger years.
I'm sure your background must make it much more challenging for you than it was for me.
The thing is, you're not asking the woman you've been talking with to marry you, have your kids and stay with you until you die. You're just asking if she might like to talk with you some more. Maybe she will, and maybe she won't. That decision will be based on all sorts of factors, and some of them you can't possibly know about after just one casual conversation with a stranger. It's entirely possible that a woman might feel she has to decline, while feeling a lot of regret about that.
It's always possible that a woman might rebuff you, but one thing is obvious: if you never ask a woman if you can talk to or meet up with her again, it's highly unlikely that will ever happen. You will have avoided being rejected and all the negative feelings that might create, but the cost of avoiding that possible pain is that you've made it impossible for something positive to ever happen.
Is it normal that I don't have the guts to ask a girl out?
