Do you think you're better than them or something? Everyone learns, grows and changes at their own pace and in their own ways. Just because they aren't getting better as efficiently as you doesn't make them lesser people. A bipolar person with a criminal record will have a harder time than a bipolar person with a clean record. A depressed person with a f*d up family will have a harder time than a depressed person with at least one caring sibling who can make all the difference. Some people have a stronger will than others. Basically, if you want to have any part in helping them you need to stop comparing yourself to them. When they are ready to change they will do what they need to do.
Is it normal that I don't feel empathy for people with "issues"?
