Is it normal that i don't care about anyone's feelings?

I know how expressions work, i know what anger, hate, happiness, sadness, disgust, love, and pain look like, I just dont' care. Doesn't matter if they're my friend of 6 years, parent, sibling, complete stranger on the street, i don't care. I've felt all of those things and more except for love, i'm not completely dead inside. It's just that i can't seem to care, not even make myself care, about anyone else's.

Everyone feels empty sometimes at least i do, I understand the situation you are into, it's like "screw everyone" type of feeling but do you like it?

    • No, it's the "nothing matters and i feel nothing but contempt and indifference towards anyone" feeling.

    • I thought autism was the inability to, or dificulty in distinguishing the emotions and reactions of others.

Depression? Autism? I think you care more than you let on, to have a "friend of 6 years".

        • I'm depressed becasue i'm bored and I feel trapped by circumstances not relevant to this question.
I can't remember half my friend's names... Of all the friends i have had,(about twentyish) i remember two of their names. I could have that same friend of six years crying in front of me and the only thing i would really want to do is shut them up; it's happened before. I should feel bad that i completely ignored it, I know I should, but it doesn't matter to me. Caring about the absence of care is not the same thing as caring in the first place.

Autism and self-awareness don't exactly go hand in hand. they're not aware of the impact that their actions cause on other people's emotions, and most have difficulty distinguishing emotions in the first place. Do you know of any autistic kid who feels self conscious in any way other than what they're told to?

Uhh yeah, people with high functioning Autism have emotions/empathy they just have trouble showing them.
I'm guessing you're in high school right? It's pretty normal dude

            • I'm pretty sure even autistic people are capable of caring about their own parent's in some manner or another.

        • I never said i was one, but who's to say the don't? They're not blind, they can see the connection other people have with each other. They know what caring looks like or at the very least entails; that's what make them dangerous: they know how to fake it.
