Is it normal that I don't brush my teeth everyday?

  • You need to brush every day. The plaque will turn into tartar. And the tartar will attract even more plaque. This can lead to gingivitis(gum disease, red, swollen, bleeding gums) and even periodontitis (irreversible bone loss). A lot of oral issues can be prevented if you just brush your teeth efficiently every day.

Although, if it makes you feel better, brushing at night is more important than brushing in the morning. And that's because your saliva doesn't fight bacteria as hard when you're sleeping.

However, the best way to have healthy teeth and gums is to brush twice a day and floss once a day. If you don't like flossing, which most people don't, you can start off by flossing at least 2 or 3 times a week.

Hope that helps a little. Please don't skip out on brushing. It can affect you in more ways than you think.
