Is it normal that i dislike my mom but like my dad

My dad is bipolar and when he is in one of his moods, he is the most terrifying person you will ever meet. I have been physically and mentally abused by him but when he is in a good mood, he is so sweet and fun and I almost forgive all past transgressions. Is it normal to like him way better than my mom? I do not like her personality, parenting style, or her as a person.

    Yes, it sounds like you're a very forgiving person.
    You don't like you're mom as a person. (altogether)
    But your father has done hurtful things in the past, but you have fond memories of him that make up for it. And, he has a disability that makes him like that... not saying his behavior is excusable in the past though.

    Sometime u have to think of a woman in a different way if u r unable to get going with her personality. Try to look at her as a woman, u will be able to like n love her in a different way. Got my clue.
