  • Normal.

Let this be a lesson to you, as a parent someday. Cut the TV out, read to your kids, don't let them just do whatever the heck they want because you want to be the "cool" parent or worse, because you have to work 24/7 to afford that brand new Lexus in the driveway and you let that interfere with raising your kids.

Our generation is another stepping stone on the path of the "YouOweMEvolution". Parents blaming public schools for all of their children's problems, "why don't they teach my kids good morals and values and eating/health habits in school?" "what are these people feeding my kids?" "poor me, my kids are exposed to so much corporate advertising on TV!" literally handing all responsibility for the welfare of their children to another party. Public school is now day care and home is now just a building that the kid sleeps and eats in.

You can drug kids up and put millions of dollars into public services but that will not reverse the damage that increasingly lazy and irresponsible parents are doing to their kids when they teach them such backwards values. Life is tough. Parenting is tough. I really hope that our generation, from looking at the generation above us and the one below us and how well THAT is going will be the one to realize it...

    • While you are certainly correct, you sound like one of the dull ones he's talking about.

      • I don't know if you're referring to dull as in unintelligent or dull as in boring but if you're calling me boring I must agree. I work and go to school and it's basically my life until I get a real job, so I don't have time to party anymore.

          • I work and go to school now so I can make real money later. My family is poor as hell, I'm not going to end up in the same boat.

    • Agree!

I can tell you'll be a great mother when you choose to be one. I just wish that our society wasn't full of all this bullshit. But what can I say, we all just have to live through it and ignore most of what we can.

I'm just scared to see what the next generation will be like that my kids will have to be in... They just better listen and learn the moral rights from me as a future mother.
