Is it normal that i didn't really like the movie the princess bride

I couldn't take the princess bride seriously from their acting to the scene when they fall down the hill. I just couldn't take it as a serious movie. I know it got a lot of great reviews and so many people recommend it but I just didn't like it. is this normal, am I the only one?!

    My dad really, really loves this film, it is definitely in his top two of all time. It never interested me really, I thought it was okay but not great.
