Is it normal that i demand praise?

I got a Certificate of Art and a Certificate of Merit in high school and because of this, I'm outstanding in the merit of all things. I only value merit, and I don't merely ask for notice, I demand it, I demand privileges and I demand a gold star. I keep explaining my certificates and explaining that high school certificates aren't just at the time but symbolise how good you are in the future. I try to explain that high school education can get you a job, the only people who give a damn about your certificates. The result is my marvellous use of philosophy, my extraordinary knowledge of religion, and the dressing in a dinner suit and my obligation to be a great artist. All because of my certificates, therefore I demand privileges because I'm even a gentleman and it flatters me when I'm given praise, it makes me warm and fuzzy, is that normal?

  • You sound like the type of guy who'd make a blank black cube, call it art, and try pass it off as having some sort deeper meaning on social issues while sipping your pumpkin spice latte.

    1. Go to the store.
    2. Buy a bag for douching.
    3. Hang it on the wall with your certificates.

    There. Recognition is complete.

Never understood the purpose of trolling so hard that almost everyone knows you're trolling.

Dude, you find out eventually in life that flaunting your certificates makes people tire of you very fast. In polite company I don't normally mention mine anymore, since in my last job a manager of mine went on and on about how my degree was better than hers and resented me for it. Turned out she was disappointed in me anyway as she'd set me up to be this perfect person in her head because of my fancy degree, and I inevitably disappointed her. I ended up not getting my contract renewed, to boot. Wonder why that was?

Take my advice, man. Oil the wheels of the social machine by pretending to be either normal or stupid. Take your pick. Then nobody feels threatened by you, nobody hates you for being a narcissist, and you can hope to get ahead.

Your response is particularly odd. Your writing suggests A level accomplishment, yet you do not have money to ride the metro. You often talk of your 200 year old expectation to marry as a virgin. To what do you exactly aspire? Are your aspirations as half baked as your awareness of modern life? Please advise.

Are those lovely certificates in the same portfolio as your certificate of narcissism?
