Is it normal that i cry when i see ambulances?

I haven't always cried when I see ambulances. It started within the past couple of years, and I'm not really sure why. It's only when I see one going down the street with its lights and sirens on. I think, "if they're driving so fast to get to the hospital, then whoever is in there must be really sick or hurt." Then I start thinking that it may be someone's parent or child or brother or sister or grandparent and how scared their family must be. It's not like I start bawling in the middle of the sidewalk (though I have), but I still get teary-eyed almost every time.

Is It Normal?

  • I see them every day. Usually it's because someone at the shelter across the street called 911 because they had a panic attack and it's their only form of health care. great use of resources.

  • I start to feel really sad and almost start to cry. It's understandable.

  • Oh I do too. My heart races and stuff. I can't really give you a good answer why. I try to think why but nothing seems to fit.

  • When I see ambulances I always worry about the possibility that it's someone I know, even though that's so unlikely :/
I guess we're just really caring/sensitive/anxious people. It's not all that unusual and the human race needs people like us to survive, even if it's not the easiest thing.

  • You'd never make it as a paramedic.

  • you may just be OVER sensitive , it shows u definately care and have a big heart. the thing about this is u assume everytime that u see an ambulance that someone is severly hurt or dead. assume the best not worst, think of the other possibilitys that maybe, it was just a old lady who fell and could get up and had something like LifeAlert its still bad but not deadly, or an ambulance getting to a high school football game cause of some injured player. dont let it get to the best of you but still hold on to your warm heart
