Is it normal that i cover my mouth w/ my t-shirt whenever i go?

When i was little i got very sick and started throwing up uncontrollably. After that was done, it happened again the next year, and ever since then I have had the hugest fear of puking, and even toilets. So ever since then i've developed a habit where whenever i go to the bathroom, i HAVE to cover my mouth with my t-shirt so i don't get sick again. I know that this is completely superstitious and overall absurd, but i CANNOT stop it.
