I definitely do this all the time too. What's worse is that I work at a grocery store, so when I'm a cashier, I count how many of each grocery they have, or when I'm stocking I count the number of the items I'm putting on the shelf. Funny thing though, I don't usually keep those numbers in my head for long. I don't know why I do it, but I subconsciously count really odd things to count.
