Is it normal that i cant get over someone

i met a boy at ibiza in the summer, and we bacame friends, we played in the pool and had dinner together with another friend we met there. i fell in love with him since i take to him,he is 1 year older than me and i wanted to know how to ignore him... he is messing m up in the head. i asked him out and he called me a desparte fugly slag, and i keep reading the messages. i need advice!
