On the one hand, not watching the movies of someone who you do not wish to support, is an admirable thing, but on the other, especially with a very old movie like Braveheart, you are hurting yourself more than the actor, for it is a great movie and Gibson does an admirable job of bringing the character to life.
My question is where you got your information on Gibson and the veracity of that information. How do you KNOW that Gibson is all those things? Have you actually spoken with him, or have you accepted what the press has used to sell copy, as factual? Hell, we had a president (the dumb Bush) that flat chat lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, just because his VP (Chaney) wanted a war that his companies could profit from.
You just cannot accept what you hear or read as the truth, any more.
Of course I don't know him, but it's quite obvious in interviews and rants with him that he is just a horrible human being. Once he did a small interview for a Swedish news paper before everyone realized how crazy he was (It was after Lethal Weapon.) and in that interview he said that it's bullshit that it's illegal to beat your child in Sweden. Similar things happened in interviews were it becomes apparent that he's an asshole. Then there are like 4 rants out there were he says racist/misogynistic/anti-semitic and horrible things to his ex girlfriend (Even threating her if I remember correctly.).
P.S. I do not not watch movies because I don't want to support the actor, it's just that I can't stand watching them for 3 hours.
