Is it normal that i can't stop repeating certain words in my head?

In the past few weeks I've noticed that I repeat certain words over and over again to the point where I forget what I'm doing. For about three days I've been saying (in my head) "it's cute that", and then I've automatically added new words after that, getting a different sentence every time.
Last time it was "it's cute that you think that", and before that it was "it's cute that you don't". The sentences aren't related to what I'm thinking about, and aren't even in my own language. They just pop up out of nowhere, and when they do I repeat them 3-8 times a minute until they change.
Before "it's cute that" it was "what's wrong?" followed by a random answer. It typically happens when I'm going somewhere.

I know repeating a single word until it loses its meaning is normal, but I don't do that... Is what I've described normal?

I have a similar problem where I obsess over specific words and repeat them over and over: apparently it's a symptom of OCD. Do you have other such repetitive rituals?
