  • It's something a lot of people struggle with, especially when they're young. Social media definitely has not helped things in this regard.

An important thing to remember is that social media is a facade. People only share on there what they want other people to know about them, and typically don't post their own problems and bad things happening in their lives. Some also really embellish certain things in their lives. So, take anything you see on there with a grain of salt. All of those people have their own issues and struggles as well, they just don't put them out there for everyone to see. The difference between what you know about everyone else's lives and what you know about your own is that you know every detail, good and bad, about your own, but only know what the others are willing to share about theirs. Only the most flattering photos are posted, as well as their accomplishments. You don't see them when they first roll out of bed in the morning, or hear about stupid decisions they made that resulted in consequences they had to pay a price for.
