Well I've spoken standard english and "ebonics" for years and switching back and forth is relatively easy. Though things get lost in trying to revert from one to the other.
Ex: "I ain't got no blankets." (Slang version) = "I have no blankets."
"I ain't got no blankets." (Standard) = "I have some blankets."
