Is it normal that i can't seem to be capable of having close friends

I'm an 18 year old girl and I've never had a group of close friends, or pretty much any close friends whatsoever ever since I was in elementary school. I'm a pretty nice person and there's nothing noticeably strange about me that makes it harder for me to make friends. I only have two friends as of now and they're basically strangers, but the weird thing is even when people approach me first and want to hang out or whatever it's a huge turn off and I never give them a chance. Yet when I approach people first I feel like I'm the only one trying. I still get really lonely, but I just seem to hate most people in general and it's almost impossible to connect with anybody at all. It's a lose lose situation and it confuses me a lot. Have you ever felt this way?

    Yep, lived the majority of my school career like that until my sophomore year. i couldn't stand the guys in my class (basically cavemen), and the girls in my class were all valley-girl-gossip types. You'll come across someone who hates people almost exactly like you do. Just don't stress over it-- see it as a blessing. Friends can distract you sometimes.

    Yep but I don't hate them, they're basically like any other animals to me - theyre cute and all that, fun to interact with at times, im nice and respectful to them, they supposedly like me and i have a lot of acquaintances but i see no need to get too "close" with anyone, it just feels odd and kinda fake mostly

    I still go through that daily. Nobody cares about or wants to talk to me. I don't dislike others but they just don't get me. I'm a simple person too....

    Through time you get furtherat a slower pace, but you pave a road that your 3rd n 4th + generations will be able to run up and down from
