Is it normal that i can't really feel emotions anymore?

It actually started one or two years back but it gradually got worse. Nowadays I can't laugh or talk enthusiastically or genuinely. I havent had a good laugh for a really long time. Even my facial expressions seem forced or patronizing.
Recently I learnt that my mum has less than six months to live, I cried for a while because I was in shock from the news but after crying, I'm completely back to the emotionless, unaffected and passive person. Am I normal or should I see a doctor to get anti depressants?

Is It Normal?

  • Given your story yes, u might be feeling very careless because things seem bad but just be with your mom and know she's always with you no bs okay? Hang in there, take care of yourself and just be a good child to your mother right now she needs yiu

  • I dont think you should need any meds or see a doctor. Just dont commit suicide...
    I can't tell.
I feel emotionless from relationships and friendship. I start to talk less or talk in a lazy sounding voice. I have been like this for a year now.

  • I'm sorry about your mother but I understand what your saying. Its like when I laugh I can automatically make myself turn back to normal and when I do a small grin my cheeks burn. Sometimes I have to force a proper smile.
