Anything that is preventing you from sleeping is not normal.
If you are too afraid to see a psychologist, then you can try darkness meditation.
It's simple, go into a dark room with a flashlight or lamp and a timer. Set the timer for 60 seconds turn off the lights, sit down crossed legged on the floor and think about nothing. After the timer rings, turn on the light.
Do that until 60 seconds is no longer scary then do 120 seconds of darkness meditation. Keep on increasing the time until you are no longer afraid.
This will take an extremely long time but that's normal, don't rush.
