Is it normal that i can't cry?

It's really strange...but for the past month I haven't been able to cry at all. It kind of concerns me.
Crying has always been my outlet, and I've wanted to cry almost every day, and I even try to, but I can't seem to actually cry. It sucks :(
The only time I have been able to cry is when I'm acting, just in like a scene or in practice or whatever, but it's not real crying or anything.
I mean I could sit here with my eyes open or something, but it wouldn't be even close to my normal crying...
So is it normal to suddenly not be able to cry? And...how do I get over this? :(

I can relate, it feels good to let it out, instead of bottling it up. Feels much worse in the long run.
Sometimes I can't cry because I can tell I'm trying to force it out, which isn't a good thing. It puts stress on your body.

If you truly feel the pressure of the emotional build up and truly need to cry, possibly spend a few hours before bed to reflect on what happend, or use a journal to let out your feelings. Once the thoughts are fully pictured in your mind you'll probably be able to cry it out. Thats what I do, I usually feel much better in the morning.

By the way, I'm generally a very happy person. I only get like this maybe once or twice a month. If your getting it over a long period of time you may be clinically depressed and should ask a doctor ):

  • I've been like this for a long time(several years), but then I've finally discovered a special technique to do it. I drink a glass of something alcoholic, not enough to get drunk but just enough to feel it and then I put on some music that makes me sad(usually Julee Cruise, though one time I Don't Like Mondays worked).
I do this when I'm feeling depressed and I always feel better afterwards.
