Is it normal that i can't be close to someone physically?

Well basically I can't be close to anyone physically unless I'm drunk. I can barely look people in the eye, I've only ever kissed someone sober once and that was like a peck on the lips goodbye. I have basically had sex with a girl, got into several people (male and female) but only when I'm drunk. It scares me way too much when I'm sober, I can't even have a relationship because of it and I'm 18! Is this normal?

    I doubt there is anything wrong with you. You might be under too much pressure to behave more sexually than you want to. I'm 19, and I know a lot of people our age are "sowing their wild oats " or whatever right now, but I don't feel like wasting my time with people I'm not really into. But if there IS someone you really do like that you are unable to connect with because of your fear, it might be time to seek out some help. But remember that you might just need to find someone who is okay with taking things slow until you are comfortable. I know I do.

    I understand your fear, I was like you when I was the same age. I got over it, though, and I think you will too.

    Eventually, I became comfortable with it once I was in a serious relationship. Until then, I needed a drink (or two) to relax.
