  • Hi! I'm someone who will respect you and your question.
Sounds like one of several things, or a combination of these things, is going on for you:

    1) You have come to a profound psycho-spiritual realization. There's a phrase in Psychology from Fritz Kunker, who said, "The real Self is not 'I', but 'We' ". Or, on a more metaphysical level, maybe you've been listening to Alan Watts videos on youtube? I wouldn't blame you--I'm a follower of him myself :)

    2) You have a mild form of synthesia. Look it up--reliable sources only preese :)

    3) You have strongly rooted yourself to a psychedelic trip, so much so that mild effects of the trip, being auras, are present now in your everyday life. Sensory acquaintances happen aaaallllllll the time, even without psychedelic substances. For instance, I am partial to seeing lint and hair and dirt floating in the air, highlighted by streaks of sun, because I find those moments (very oddly) beautiful, and have conditioned myself to notice them. On the other hand, someone reading this may go, "What? What a weird guy. I've never seen that," but still have their own sensory hang-up.

    4) To bring it back to psychology (sorry, it's what I do), I would recommend taking the Meyers-Briggs personality assessment. Three personality temperaments--INFP, INFJ, and INTJ--all report special abilities such as aural knowledge. I recommend everyone take this test :) here's a link to a reliable free version: www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp

    5) Read the Tao Te Ching!

I am an INFJ. I see auras and can read people almost flawlessly. Part of me thinks it was my destiny--life took its turns for me and I wound up listening to Alan Watts videos at a friend's house and was like, "FUCK. YEAH. He gets it! HE GETS IT!" I see everyone and everything as God--we are composed of the same root things, and at the end of the day, share the same experience. I think we're elastic souls, all bound to return to Something, only to be spawned out again as something else. When I die, I don't die: if one light in a building is out, is the whole building dim? I could go on. The point is, you asked a great question, and I wish I knew you in person so we could really talk. You are normal. Not average. But normal. And the world needs holistic thinkers and feelers like you now more than ever.
