An alarming portion of the population are utter idiots. You just have to accept that.
The other thing that I think is incredibly stupid is wandering around - and particularly running or cycling - with buds crammed in your ears and your chosen soundtrack for the day blaring away and blocking out the sounds around you.
Don't worry, they're the first to go when some maniac goes on a shooting rampage. Everyone else falls to the ground or runs at the first gunshot, while the idiots stand there listing to Slipknot at full volume and checking their Twitter feed.

Ear buds are the worst because people are utterly oblivious. At least with a phone you can tell at them.
