    You aren't an ass for falling in love with someone else. That happens sometimes.

    You are an ass for cheating instead of breaking it off with your first girlfriend before starting another relationship and for pulling passive-aggressive "I will end this relationship" nonsense with your first girlfriend. You were right to end things with your girlfriend and free her to find someone who isn't emotionally manipulative and fickle.

    You aren't abnormal, but you are kind of awful.
