You don't think they should be together because of "the constant feelings of hurt and tension", but it's only through interacting with each other naturally, respectfully and as equals that preconceptions and prejudices can subside. Once you put up some barrier saying 'yeah you can be friends, you can talk and drinks together, but you can't be in a relationship and have kids! That's bad because of history', you basically maintain and even reenforce racial segregation - which leads to further "feelings of hurt and tension."
If two people like each other enough to enter into a relationship and have children, it really makes no difference whether or not you think it's wrong - most of the rest of society is pretty comfortable with it now. Maybe you should catch up?
