I think i would be nice, but i find that hard to believe. I think that when we die, were gone, that's it. Everything that makes up who we are is in our brain, our senses, our conscience, our memories...When we die, our brain dies, and so were gone with it.
Haha thanks :) but I've got nothing against creationists, they can believe what they like, even if it's completely insane. My brothers a creationist, so i have to be careful sometimes :P
I believe this too, but my ego is discontent with the ever increasing probability that I will not exist after death. That gets me thinking though too, if I don't exist after I die, does that mean that I'm only me in this exact life? What I'm getting at is.... What if your exact life just repeats on and on forever. As soon as you die, your born again. Because, if you do not exist outside of this life, then this life could be all that exists.
I know what you meant about that discontent. I hope I have the hope of an afterlife as I'm elderly. I don't care if it's stupid, it would be nice. Then again it's not the end of the world if it is the end of the world--you'll be dead. I get jealous of the future. However, I don't think it's anything as bizzarre as your repeating life scenario, or some other trippy outcome. I used to suffer with all kinds of outcomes my horrificly capabable imagination seemed to come up with. It was all too trippy. As you may realize I used to trip a lot....but I don't know if that's what's done that kind of thing to you.
I am a Christian and believe that the soul can survive even death and spend the rest of eternity in heaven or hell depending on whether they were a good or bad person in life
Is it normal that I believe that we don't truly die?
