Dreams that predict the future are called precognitive dreams, which are well documented. The most. Notable is David Booth, who dreamt the exact details of the crash of AA Flight 191. The FAA documented his calls, but he couldn't give them enough information to act.
I think I occasionally have "Prophetic Dreams" I can never completely remember them. But I have remembered a few in which what I dreamt came true down to the last detail for example:
I dreamt of getting a dog within a few months of the dream, it was a distinct dog, and it was also a suprise, the dog had a black mark on its tail in a certain ring pattern. The dog was a suprise, Lo and Behold. It was the dog i dreamt of.
I once had dream within a dream within a dream(before Inception) in which my girlfriend died several times. It was terrible. in the first dream she was mauled to death by a pack of wolves. I then thought I had woken up. we had just got off a plane and started driving in to the desert where we were attacked by mutated desert people(hills have eyes); I saw her decapitated. I then woke up again in hospital with enough time to see her flat line. If a supernatural whatever was trying to give me a message, that dream would have been it. I woke up crying; I very rarely cry. When I told someone about my dream they said it could either be good luck or bad luck(very informative). Its been five-ish years since then and nothing terribly bad or good has happened to her or me.
It's normal if you're a superstitious / religious / spiritual person.
If you're more inclined to use the rational and logical as a guide for understanding, then it's not normal, since what you believe in is yet to be substantiated by any evidence (alternate worlds, premonitions etc.).
I've dreamt of a place I was visiting for the first time the next day before. When I got there the following day it was exactly how I had dreamed it to be. This kind of proves is my theory on time moving in more than just one way or at least that's how I interpreted it.
I don't know about them being the key another world. But I do believe to some extent that dreams are kind of a prediction to future. This was years ago. I once had a dream about a terror attack. And within a week it was true. Maybe not word to word. not even close but still the attacks did take place.
