Totally normal. It's a use and be used world. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just an idealistic idiot who has lived a sheltered life or far too young to be on this website. It's why videos of people hurting themselves or doing stupid, asinine things like putting firecrackers in their underwear are so popular. We like seeing people getting hurt or doing dumb things because we aren't hard wire naturally for empathy.
Here's a kicker for you to think about, pretty soon you will see less and less of your friend with that girlfriend. She doesn't like you probably because you made her cry (women are like children and totally hold grudges) so eventually it will be a choice he makes between you and her. I'll get downvoted for this because of the sheer idiocy of this website but this is the truth, hopefully it helps.
