I think at some point in the future mankind will develop ways to essentially slow down or possibly even reverse the aging process through biochemical engineering research that will not only lead to greater life expectancy but also improve the quality of life for everyone so people are able to stay physically and mentally healthy, sharp, and active during a longer period of their lifetimes. And inevitably this will involve some sort of technological integration with the human biological process. We probably won't become cyborgs but there is bound to be more prosthetic, synthetic, or mechanized aspects to our genetic makeup and DNA.
IIN that I anticipate that humanity is on the brink of immortality?
