  • Shy means being timid and maybe a bit self-conscious and awkward. If that's what you meant, then you have the right word.

I'm a little like this too. Sometimes, I want to give someone the biggest hug, but just can't. Even a touch on the arm can seem like a shock at times.

How do you overcome something like this? I don't know. It could just be something that is a part of who you are, but if you really want to change, you could just expose yourself to it a bit more until it's no longer something that bothers you, maybe even reaching out to hug a friend every now and then.

  • Same here. Shy on the outside, but panicking like crazy on the inside. *sigh* It's an improvement for me, though. I used to get mad as hell whenever someone touched me! Herbal stress relievers have helped to alleviate my shyness/panicking. If you decide to go that route, be sure to do your research! Good luck! :)

  • Its normal, but if your worried about it or its getting in the way, then what I did when I was younger was I would be the first to give a hug, or a tap on the shoulder and I found it easier to be, well, touched.

Like you don't want them to touch you?
If you are really worried about it, It might be good idea to talk to your GP or councelor.
