Yes, especially if you are from the group that takes the word very seriously. Not everyone does though.
I wish there were more words to describe the different levels of love that people feel. I think that having more specific words for it would eliminate some of the confusion. I find it easy to "love" others, but not easy to fall "in" love because the two are different types of love. I love my family. I love my friends. And every now and then (very rarely) I fall in love with a man.
Is it normal that I am turned off by this?
