If you see a gay couple kiss on the street and you are a person who tends to be empathic and impressionable, you will automatically imagine yourself in their place. Now, if you are completely straight this experience will probably not be to your liking. There is nothing wrong with that, It's normal. I feel something similar when I see people eat jalapenos raw, it horrifies me (I really hate spicy food).
The trick is to understand this feeling is happening inside your head. No one is doing it to you. It's not their fault you have radically different tastes. In fact they might feel the same way when they see you hug and kiss your wife.
REALLY understanding there are people completely separate and different from you, is no trivial matter. Most people are quite incapable of that, most of the time, I think.
I shouldn't have to see it though, they should keep it in the privacy of their own home or somewhere where it won't cause disgust to members of the public.
IIN that I am racist and homophobic?

I see that you missed my entire point. You can't, and *shouldn't*, control everyone around you. Especially if you cannot control your own thoughts.

I like to pick my nose and eat it but I don't do it in public
And I didn't say I hated anyone
