Is it normal that I am only attracted to gay men or masculine girls?

  • I'm a bisexual male that considers myself to be an even 50/50 split sexual orientation wise. As far as my exact preferences are concerned, I'm into masculine men, but not at all interested in effeminate men. With women... Well let's just say I'm not as picky. The majority of people who upon learning that I'm bi are (initially) genuinely surprised. Apparently I could fool most into thinking I'm straight as an arrow (if I wanted to), which is interesting since the pleasure I derive from being with a man is from imagining that I'm a women during sex. When I'm with a women the attraction is more physical as opposed to mental. Confusing? I would imagine so for someone on the outside looking in, but for me personally, I've never been more sure of myself (and my desires). To paraphrase, 'Being bisexual is not being gay, but its also not not being gay at the same time. Its being aware.' I wish I could remember the exact quote and who the author is, but its slipping my mind at the moment.
