It's not a question of why, he just does and has no control over his feelings, if someone could figure out the solution, it would be one of the greatest discoveries ever, the good hearted ones, must feel incredibly bad, i wouldn't wish those feeling on anyone, pray for strength and solutions. By the way i am not attracted by kids or same sex, am blessed, i would risk my life to protect a child, my awareness of what goes on in the world hurts me deeply and angers me so much, i have no compassion for evil beings.
