Actually, breast ironing is an urban practice, not a tribal one. As far as I know, the practice is peculiar to Cameroon. It's much more common in the Christian and animist Southern regions than it is in the Muslim northern regions. It has nothing to do with the intelligence of the victim. Some parents believe that by ironing their pubescent daughter's breasts, they'll lower her risk of rape, early marriage, early pregnancy, and sexual harassment. As I said, it doesn't matter how smart she is. Less intelligent girls are no less likely to have their breasts ironed than more intelligent ones.
I did not say the breast thing was muslim practice. It was in a tribe they showed on discovery channel they where not in a ordinary city they where in a sort of jungle area looked like a rainforrest with exotic trees and landscape. Also no that was the rule of this tribe in particular you must be speaking of a diffrent area. They told to the channel by tribe members that they made the smart ones flatchested so they can go to school and the not so smart they make look pretty. It is not very strange since what they told us about boobs makes alot of sense. However I thought ironing someones boobs seemed drastic and disturbing.
Is it normal that I am against child mutilation?
