Is it normal that i am a sociopath, but i don't want to change?

Okay.
I have been told by several psychiatrists that I am a sociopath.
But I don't want to change!
Honestly, I don't mind not having any remorse or regret or losing friends if they have nothing to offer me!
Okay, is that normal?

Is It Normal?

  • I don't think a sociopath would ever think about this issue and certainly not write a post about it. What's in it for them?

    • Moreover, why would they care that other people think it's normal?

It's easy to 'hypochondria' your way into a diagnosis. I was once diagnosed with bipolar disorder by a psychiatrist. I am not bipolar you STUPID FUCKING BITCH.

        • ...Did you read my post? It was a simple bipolar joke.

This is like the eighth time I've had to ask someone if they actually read what I wrote. What is wrong with you people?

          • Reread the post above you. And then read yours. You are putting your personality on show, and I know how much you hate that, because you'd rather poke fun at others who are obviously lesser than your wonderful self.

            Oh dear!

            • Damn dappled, you've got me pegged. You should be a psychiatrist! Oh wait, psychiatrists usually meet in person. Ah yes, they often look into their patients medical history. And I forgot - they talk face to face and pick up on body language and verbal cues. Not to mention it's not. fucking. anonymous. This site makes me laugh, and no, most of the time it's not because of the trolling.

You want to know about me? I'll tell you. I'm a 21 year old male college student currently studying music at NYU. My name is REDACTED REDACTED (am I not allowed some anonymity?). I actually have been diagnosed as bipolar by a psychiatrist, and I do contest the diagnosis (it was unreasoned and premature). I have a dog named Cat, an older sister named Leah and a younger brother named Byron. I dislike Fritos and pseudo-intellectualism. I also dislike people who would take a stupid internet prankster seriously. You turn your noses up at my amateurish mischief and proceed to give people unfounded advice and feel like an easy altruist for a day.

See, there's a problem with people at your level of intellect. You're clever enough to be relentless in your own logical cocoon, and not quite clever enough to recognize it.

But then again, what do I know? I'm just a damn troll.

    • to further that comment...it's not normal for a psychologist to use improper terminology like "sociopath" when instead they'd use the terminology of their profession, such as "psychopath" or "anti-social personality). When you went to these counseling sessions, were they in the back of a Gyro truck?

      • What counsel(l)ing sessions?

        • People tend to get diagnosed from a counseling session. I mean, they may do it differently in the 13th dimension where you're likely saying you're from as I type, but here...you get a session before a verdict.

          • I don't have the first clue what you're wittering on about. I posted saying that a sociopath was unlikely to have written this story. From that, you've suggested that I have had a counsel(l)ing session in the back of a Gyro truck. I don't know what a Gyro truck is but apparently I'm likely to interrupt your typing by saying I'm from the 13th dimension.

What? Are you feeling quite alright? Because something seems very wrong.

            • Ahhh. I see. Thanks for letting me in on the...joke? Also, the Gyro Truck Counseling was asked of the OP, not you. I will strive to illuminate my meaning through proper noun usage.

  • So your psychologist actually told you straight out that you're a psychopath?

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Totally normal; why would you want those vulnerabilities if you've never had them. Try to channel you sociopathy into something productive (surgery? animal euthanizing? financial consultant? ), otherwise people will come after you with pitchforks. Also, I hope I never meet you.

  • Guys, guys! Cant you see he's playing us against each other??? Jks.

To op - nobody's asking you to be oversensitive, and you can't change your nature too much as far as I know, but without pain you don't know you're being burnt or hurt. Maybe it's the same for emotions.

  • you are doubting your self. maybe you do want to change or you are curious to what it feel like to be well balanced.

  • You should do what most sociopaths do and go into big business.

    • Yeah, there's some suggestion that being that way in certain situations improves chances of success or survival. But it seems unusual to be seeking validation.
