Men should control their sex drive, just as people control hunger and learn to pee and poop in a toilet. Prostitution is a response to a men's lack of sensitivity regarding women's dignity, same as porn. When having sex as a prostitute, women are being placed in the position of objects. There are studies that confirm that men tend to look at them the same way the see a hammer. The way you describe it "provide a valuable service" shows that same lack of consciousness about the issue.
The last time I these women are on the streets or in porn with their own brains... they know what they are doing but they do it anyway why pin the blame solely on men.
Bringing me point number 2... Double standards, Male prostitution exists yet is much more widely accepted, why... is it not women objectifying men oh wise one?
Point number 3... Women have high libido too, this includes the aforementioned Prostitutes and Porn Stars a woman doesn't go into those jobs unless they like what they are doing.
And finally Objectification does NOT exist, Prostitution is no strings attached sex for those who don't want a commitment, objects don't have a mind of their own in conclusion a prostitute isn't an object as they can think for themselves and have a mind of their own.

Secondly, it's the prostitute's *job*. If they don't like it, they should work at mcdonalds or something*. Did you ever consider that a prostitute might... y'know... enjoy sex? I heard a lot of people enjoy sex.
(*and if they are forced into prostitution that's something entirely different, it's rape. If they can't get another job and aren't being forced to keep it, then they should really consider unemployment - there are a lot of unemployed men and women out there who wouldn't go into prostitution, and they stay unemployed... why don't the prostitutes?)
Also, re "looking at people as objects" "[in] the same way they see a hammer", who cares? If someone's that much of a tool then it's really that individual's fault, not the prostitute's fault.
Being a guy I really don't give a crap if someone sees me as an object or not so long as they treat me well. I don't care how they see me in their mind, and frankly it's not my business.

LOL. If I want sex without having to deal with dating, I'll pay for it. We aren't machines, you know. People, especially men, just like animals, have survival instincts. Sex is one of them. We're programmed to have sex for survival, that's why it feels good to do it. Deal with it.
