I knew a girl who dated a gay guy. He had many problems with friends and family and their homophobia so he was hiding his sexuality from many people. They both just kind of wanted him to be straight so badly that they convinced themselves it could work. He started cheating with men. He was afraid she would harm herself if he left her so he stayed with her. I think they might have lasted a year or two like that. But it was completely miserable for both parties
