I have a similar situation happening with my best friend as well. It's important to realize that your friend could be going through something they haven't told you about yet. The past two weeks or so, I've been realizing that I feel like I'm not getting the same amount of care from my friend and I am giving to him. I decided to take some space from him and pull back a little. Only give how much you're getting. It makes you feel better, honestly.
See if things start to get better in a week or so, and if not, maybe have a real talk about what's going on. That's what I'm planning on doing with my friend if things don't improve over the next few days. Just remember that your expectations of how you think you should be treated won't always be met, but also know the limit to that and how you deserve someone who will at least try to meet that expectation.
Is it normal that he doesn't act like it?

Good luck!
