To be honest, I don't really get the idea that music made by men is more macho anyway. There's nothing that seems macho to me about listening One Direction or Pharrell Williams or Coldplay or Robin Thicke or Justin Timberlake. Pop music sung by men is almost always either marketed at women or positioned for gender-neutral consumption.
Maybe my brain isn't working at fully capacity this morning but, excluding pop hip hop, I can't think of a single pop musician who I would associate with macho masculinity.
Is it normal that guys listen or prefer a female singer?
