What you're doing wrong is everything you're doing now. I'm not saying be an ass. Thing is they way you've gone about it makes it very easy for her to take you and the things you do for granted.
There is good news. You've gotten her accustomed to having all this stuff done for her so she'll definitely notice when it stops. Don't act upset, don't act immature, just don't give her as much attention as you did and be nonchalant about it when / if she brings it up.
It kinda is true though. She'll be into the asshole but not for the reasons you think. He's a challenge to her. It makes him seem exciting while you on the other hand? I doubt she's stupid. She may already know of your crush and that would make you too easy.
So just end it all but remain friendly when she comes and talks to you but make sure you're not the one hunting her down. Ever. and don't just jump to carry her books or open doors like you're begging for it. Make up excuses sometimes... Say anything.. Just don't be a door mat. It's sweet the first couple of times... just not... attractive. Not at your age anyways.
