I think a lot of nice guys fuck things up by coming across as just a friendly guy then wondering why the girl isn't just realizing how great a guy they are & wanting into their pants &/or lives.
If you have a romantic interest make it clear.
Flirt, steal a kiss, tell her how you feel. Whatever works for you but make it known that you like her...
Also, being chivalrous is great but don't fake it to "show what a nice guy you can be".
Do it if it comes naturally to you & it's how you believe a girl should be treated.
