IIN that Gay pride has become so marketable?

  • The former. I think that small corporations do it too, but it's much more common for large corporations like Walmart or Target to use Pride as a marketing technique. Essentially, my virtue is authenticity. I'm of the opinion that most businesses are quite cold and calculating. This is further supported by the fact that the population of CEOs has more sociopaths per capita than the general population. Because businesses are cold and calculating, all moves made are to increase their profit. The only way out of this is for the company to be donating all proceeds to a relevant charity. Even then, they would benefit from it because it would draw more attention to their company.

I'm quite cynical, so I understand that this is all up for debate, as it is an opinion, but I think that this opinion makes the most sense.

    • Brother, you completely missed my point. My questions were rhetorical. A business is a business regardless of size. You either support them virtue signalling via buying the product associated with the virtue signalling, or you don't-- business size doesn't matter.

Like you said "The former"-- Which is:

The issue for you that a business profits under a virtue or position they don't actually care about regardless of the size of the business?

"I eventually opted to buy similar things from small businesses"

So if the issue for you is businesses profiting under a virtue or position they don't actually care about. Giving your money to any business for "similar things" regardless of size is violating this very standard, and so the standard isn't a standard at all. Put simply I would say: check your integrity.
