Yes, men's departments always carry the basics because men have always gone for the basics, so the basics are going to be sold more.
Well if the problem is that clothing is too sexualized for women but women aren't going to pick certain clothing because of a few words on the non-sexualized clothing then it's not really a problem then, is it? Maybe this is there are more plain shirts for guys because men will just put on any old shirt regardless of what's on the shirt, which means putting time in to the production of putting stuff on the shirt is a waste of production time.
I don't know what you're talking about with the pants issue. I've never seen women's pants saying stuff on the back. Not saying they don't exist, just hinting that there's enough variety that it's not something someone would be pushed in to having.
Well I don't know, the women I've known who don't like tight clothing have always been able to find the clothes they want with ease such as jeans and shirts. I might go around the shops in my neighborhood to see if it's the case.
I've also had to make these sacrifices. For example, I don't like shirts with words on them either but sometimes they were the only ones there and I've had to wear them.
Another thing I'd have to point out is why not buy from the male section if this is an issue? If there is reason enough for this change and many women feel the same then by ignoring what's on the women's clothing options and buying stuff on the male isles would end up being noted and then you'd end up getting the same product for women.
You say nobody says anything about a man wearing clothes that fits him...Skinny jeans. That is all. Lol.
In all seriousness, I do think women opt for the more tight clothing options to define certain parts of their bodies. Not all women obviously but a good sum of them. Their choice so I'm not saying they can't. It's just that despite seeing options for non tight pants and stuff, if a woman is average to decent build, they tend to opt for tight clothing. Lol.
I prefer fitted over baggy myself but it's a bitch to try and find some. I guess this is the male equivilent of this topic. Whenever I look for jeans they're either too baggy or too thin. I just want some damn jeans that fit my legs without tons of folds and shit. :(
I wouldn't call my preference in clothes 'tight', just fitted. Guys probably see it as tight but it's moreso simply clothes that fit. I think that is what is getting lost in the conversation here.
I do get some things from the mens department but the problem there is the cuts are 'off'. Mens tank tops have differently made arm holes that tend to show too much on the side for my liking. Mens tees are either too baggy or if I try a small size there just isn't room in the chest because mens shirts aren't made with titties in mind. If you look at a womans tee it has an hourglass shape to it. Mens obviously do not. The crotch of mens pants is way longer. I shop every department, I have even bought large childrens tees before, but it is pretty rare to find things that fit right in other departments.
But anyway, fashion sucks. I wish there was a store that just sold basics. Normal colors and cuts and no weird random flair like words or tiny pockets. I actually saw a business pitch that idea on a tv show that did exactly that but it was for men.
Maybe. As a guy when I see clothes that fit me I don't think of clothes that are always touching my skin and has a little bit of baggyness to it, so maybe.
I think the main way this would be changed would be if more and more women decided to get the types of clothing you described, maybe even from online gaming.
One thing I have to agree with is guy's crotch areas, even for me that's annoying, it looks terrible. Obviously there's need for some room but they just over do it so much with the space needed for our parts. Aha.
