Is it normal that everything makes me want to cry?

I am 19 and when ever I see something on TV my body tenses up and says "cry" but I don't actually cry. I could if I let my body. But I keep myself from crying. If I see an owl flying on animal planet, I want to cry. If I hear a song on the credits of a song I want to cry. If I see something funny sometimes I want to cry. Things that shouldn't matter at all make me cry. But only TV not real life. I about cry 20+ times a day. Anyone know why this is or if this is normal?

  • Please don't listen to the perverts and sarcastic peeps on here. When I discovered my love for classical music and my passion to play the piano professional I would cry or get really emotional like it's the only think keeping me alive. I'd say you're really perceptive about those moments in life...they're less than a second, yet they have a profound affect on us. When I feel like that, that's when I feel like I'm living in the moment and I discover what I want to do in my life. :') maybe you cry during happy times too? Joy and fear are in the same area of your brain so maybe there's a connection between you feeling sad or happy and than just crying...I don't know but you sound really nice

  • I've cried on movies, but most commonly songs.

When, I get emotional, my whole body throughs itself into it and causes me pain to some extent. Sometimes, its not just on TV. Sometimes, its when I'm out and someone talks to me or I see people being together and loving each other. I can get emotional over a variety of things. I've even cried in the organic aisle of my store.

I sometimes fight the urge. When, I first heard the song "Swimming Home" I was next to someone and I had to fight the overwhelming urge not to break down and cry. Later, that day I was by myself and I was listening to it. I had a breakdown while listening to it! I couldn't stop crying! I've done it with "Fashion of His Love" and "Tron's Adagio" and so many other songs!
