This is just High School kids being morons, the real world is not like this. It's OK to describe someone according to their racial background.
Also, it's not racist to say someone is smart because they're Asian or that they like chicken because they're black. It's a joke and if anything just stereotypical. Racist is saying something like, I hate Michelle H. because she's Asian. People use the world racist way too much these days.
Correct about stereotypes, but technically those "racist" scenarios are actually racial bigotry. Racism is institutional racial discrimination like segregation in the Jim Crow era, Bob Jones University disallowing interracial dating, etc.
