  • You can block porn, if that helps at all. You can get a friend to make up a password you'll never guess to block porn, and not tell you what it is so you can't unblock it (you don't have to tell the friend it's for blocking porn; you can say it's to block games or something else if that's easier, or better yet say it's as a test to see if you can get past the password). That won't stop you masturbating of course, but it might take some of the fun out of it and taking the fun out of something can help you quit it.

What Angel says is right though. Your depression will find another outlet if it isn't masturbation, and that outlet could end up being much more dangerous or expensive like drugs. You've got to treat the cause, not the symptom.

  • if you're seeking a way to get rid of the habit, you may want to consider addressing the depression instead of the masturbation.

The masturbation, as you say, is just a symptom of the depression. Treating the symptom but not the source is like... stopping the bleeding on a cut, but not closing the wound .... so there's a chance the wound could reopen.

    • problem is i have multiple trigger so i cant pin point where the real prob originates from sometimes even seeing a girl just talking to a guy makes me sad just the way shes talking so its very hard for me to work on something coz i loose interest n concentration real fast i tried talking to a therapist but it was very expensive for me so had to quit it now i cant seem to do anything except just go with it

      • You might not be able to pin-point it... not everyone can successfully self-diagnose their depression source or solution.

That's why sometimes it doesn't hurt to try to seek professional help.

  • Start working on what's actually depressing you in life and try your hardest to avoid these habits. I know how it is.
