Is it normal that certain music makes me sick?

  • I do not think it is normal, exactly, but you are not alone. There are certain bands or songs that make me feel physically ill. Pink Floyd makes me ill (no I would never watch The Wall.) except for the song Learning to Fly. I do not like the song, but it does not make me sick. The song "Wonderwall" makes me sick, as do most songs by The Flaming Lips, Green Day, Journey, Gorillaz, and Foster the People. ("Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People make me physically ill and aggravates my anxiety.) There does not seem to be a pattern, and it is not as if I heard the songs first and then felt ill the second time around. I have never listened to a full Pink Floyd song other than Learning to Fly because the feeling starts immediately.

Also, certain animation makes me sick to the point I cannot bring myself to think or the names because it will evoke images. It is the same thing, but much worse. Again, I have not watched the animation in question. I have just seen images or seconds of the show.
